Leica Summarit 5cm/1.5 Ltm “Ernst Leitz Canada Ltd. Midland”
Serial no.1246xxx.
1246001-1247000 Summarit 5cm/1.5 (ELC.S) About 1000 were produced in 1955.
According to the official records of Leica this is the first batch of Summarit 5cm/1.5 ELC.
But in fact I have seen serial no.105xxxx appeared ELC.
Most of this lens is made in Germany. Only very little production in Canada.
Many years ago, peoples preferred the made in Germany too.
Even cameras and lenses made by some Canadian factories are engraved on German.
So you can see some serial cameras and lenses that are ELC, why is it a German engraving.
Resulting in some Canada engraving cameras and lenses is very less and it has become of leica collectors’ collections around the world.
Rare items of Leica Canada Ltd. Midland such as (Leica 72, IIIF, IIIG, M3, M2, M4)
This lens is the top condition.

Most of Summarit 5cm/1.5 has a strong fog, the front glass has a lot of scratches.
But this one only a little fog on the strong light and no scratches, no fungus, no separation.
Only 1-2 hairline on the strong light.
It is very good condition of the Summarit 5cm/1.5
